How to search in TikTok Favorites
Open Profile → Favorites and start with the most likely collection. TikTok's search covers the whole platform: use it with a specific detail from the video and check that the result is the one you saved.
Step by step
- Open Profile → Favorites and go into the most likely collection.
- Remember the creator? Open their profile and look for the video there.
- In TikTok search, look up the topic with a specific detail and check that the result is the video you saved.
Search looks through all of TikTok
Typing “mug cake” into search brings up hundreds of videos, most of which you've never seen. It may find yours again, but the first result isn't necessarily the one you saved. Open it and check the creator and the detail you remember.
Three clues that narrow the list
- The collection: if you sort your Favorites into collections, start with the one for that subject.
- The creator: on their profile, videos are in the order they were posted, and the list is much shorter than your Favorites.
- An unusual detail: an ingredient, a tool, the name of a place. “Fold shirt suitcase” finds more than “travel tip.”
Remember a phrase but can't find it? The caption may use different words. Swap the phrase for two concepts and try again.
Look where the link has been
If you sent the video to someone, the conversation keeps the exact link. Search for the words you wrote when you sent it, like “check out this recipe.” It can be much faster than TikTok search.
If you still don't know where TikTok's lists are, see where saved videos are. For a vaguer memory, use the walkthrough to find a saved video without remembering its name.
