How to organize saved Reels on Instagram
Open ☰ → Saved, tap + and create a few collections with names based on how you'll use them, like “Quick dinner” or “Trip to Recife”. When you save a new Reel, choose the collection in the prompt that appears at the bottom of the screen.
Step by step
- Tap your profile picture → ☰ → Saved.
- Tap +, name the collection and choose the Reels that go in it.
- For future Reels, tap save and choose the collection in the prompt that appears at the bottom of the screen.
Names that work
A good collection answers a question you're going to ask: “what do I cook today?”, “where do we eat in Recife?”. That's why names based on how you'll use them work better than subject names.
- To do: “Quick dinner”, “Home workout”, “Try this weekend”.
- For a trip: “Recife — July”, “Downtown cafés”.
- For a project: “Living room makeover”, “Birthday ideas”.
Start with just a few collections. One per Reel only trades one huge list for lots of small ones.
What about the Reels you've already saved?
Don't try to sort everything at once. When you open Saved to look for something, take the chance to move the Reels you come across into the right collection. In a few weeks, what you use most is already in place.
You don't have to delete anything: an old Reel can still be useful. What matters is being able to find it when you need it.
When a collection isn't enough
A collection sorts by subject, but it doesn't remember the detail. If you're thinking “it was a recipe without milk” and don't remember the cover, see how to search your saved Reels.
There are specific guides for organizing saved recipes and saved places, with what's worth writing down in each case.
