How to organize saved references on Bluesky
Use Bluesky's Saved to keep posts in the moment and a list per project to organize them later. For each post, note the idea, how you want to use it and the cited source, if any.
Step by step
- While you're reading, use Saved on Bluesky to keep the post.
- For a project, copy the link of each useful post to a project list.
- For each link, note the idea, how you want to use it and the cited source, if any.
A feed is not a library
A topic feed helps you discover posts, but it changes all the time. Following a subject doesn't tell you which posts you'll want back. Saved keeps; the project list organizes.
Example: if you're studying gardening, a list called “Light for apartment plants” is much easier to consult than everything about plants that scrolled past.
Post, firsthand account or source?
One post tells about an experience, another shares an article, another just asks a question. Note the role of each one, and don't attribute to the post's author the conclusions of the article they shared.
- Link: the post's, and when it helps, the cited source's.
- Clue: the idea or detail you'll want to find.
- Use: read later, compare or refer to often.
Bring networks together without losing the source
In KeepScroll, Bluesky posts sit next to videos and pages on the same subject, each with its source network, and the chat answers by showing where each piece of information came from. See how to bring together what you save across several networks.
Lost a post? Bluesky's search filters help you cross-reference author and subject. If the idea came from a conversation, the method for organizing Threads conversations works too.
