Where saved posts are on X
On X, tap your profile picture to open the menu and choose Bookmarks: that's where the posts you bookmarked are kept. Bookmarks are private; no one sees what you saved.
Step by step
- In the X app, tap your profile picture in the top left corner to open the menu.
- Tap Bookmarks.
- On a computer, Bookmarks is in the left column.
Saving, liking and reposting are different
- Save (bookmark): goes to Bookmarks. Only you see what you saved; the post only shows how many times it was bookmarked, not by whom.
- Like: goes to the Likes tab on your profile.
- Repost: shows up on your profile for your followers.
- Lists: follow accounts; they don't keep posts you pick.
If the post isn't in your Bookmarks, check whether you liked or reposted it instead of saving it.
Save the right part of the thread
In a thread, the useful information may be in the middle, in a reply or in a correction by the author. If you only saved the first post, open the thread and check that part. For a specific point, save the post where it appears.
Gone from the list?
- Check that you're on the right account.
- If the author's account became protected, the post disappears for people who don't follow them.
- If the author deleted the post, it won't come back. A bookmark keeps a shortcut, not a copy.
Finding it later
Over time, finding a post in Bookmarks turns into scrolling a long list. The guide to organizing saved posts shows how to sort them by subject, with or without Premium folders. If you also use Bluesky, see how to find saved posts there.
